Though not nearly as darkly fantastic as “Pan’s Labyrinth,” nor as crookedly romantic as “The Shape of Water,” “Nightmare Alley” combines the best of Director Guillermo Del Toro to a film that doesn’t always work, but when it does, it’s worth it.
